Lipman - The Obvious Choice

1966
 

Phillip Lipman Constructions Pty Ltd was formed on 15th March 1966. The vision was ‘Co-operative Contracting’.

1970

Company became part of the Jardine Bowen & Lipman Group. Colin Ging joined as Development Manager for Northpoint Tower.

1978

2nd February 1978 the company name was shortened to Phillip Lipman Pty Ltd. At this time the company became more involved in the tender field and had a close working relationship with McDonalds, building some 23 stores between 1978 and 1987.

1983

On 1st July 1983, Phillip Lipman sold his shares in the company.

1989

The company constructed the largest project it had undertaken since Northpoint when it was awarded the contract to build Stage 1B and 4 at the Sydney Airport Centre.

1994

2nd May, Paul Watkins joined as Business Development Manager and on 23rd December Tony Yap resigned.

1996

On 14th March the company celebrated its 30th Birthday.

The company name was shortened to Lipman Pty Ltd and the new company logo was unveiled.

On 19th February the company moved to 66 Berry Street, North Sydney. On 1st July Paul Watkins was appointed as a Director.

1997

During 1997 & 1998 the shareholders were Tony Wood and Colin Ging and the Board of Directors were Tony Wood and Paul Watkins as Executive Directors and Colin Ging and Ian Bruce as Non-Executive Directors.

1999

28th June, Kelvin Black was appointed as a Director.

2000

7th July, Ian Bruce resigned as Non-Executive Director and on 22nd November, Kelvin Black resigned as Director and as Chief Estimator.

2001

On 14th March at Lipman’s 35th Birthday, Tony Wood announced that he and Colin Ging had decided to sell their shareholding to Mr Barry Waugh, which occurred on 24th April 2001. Paul Watkins was appointed Managing Director and David Moffat Construction Director. The Board consisted of Barry Waugh, Chairman; Paul Watkins and David Moffat as Executive Directors; and Tony Wood and Colin Ging as Non-Executive Directors.

Lipman Properties sold their 78 Waterloo Road, Macquarie Park commercial office development to Stockland.
