project description: This project consisted of the construction of two large warehouse storage facilities for the Museum of Applied Arts and Science. The Display Store will be used to showcase historical items, host functions and provide learning facilities in addition to storage. The Accessible Store will primarily be used for storage.
The warehouses are two levels high and have specific humidity and temperature requirements to provide the optimum conditions for the storage of valuable and rare items.
Both buildings have post-tensioned ground and suspended slabs, concrete and structural steel frame, colourbond roof and masonry and sandwich panel facades. Associated works included civil works and retaining walls. The project was completed 6 weeks ahead of programme.
