As a proudly Australian privately owned family business, Lipman is an experienced, commercial builder that has constructed some of Sydney and NSW’s most outstanding commercial, educational, sporting, health and industrial buildings for more than 55 years.

Some of our most significant projects over our history include: Northpoint, Wet ‘n’ Wild, Macquarie University Arts Precinct, Veolia Woodlawn, Lober Square for Anglicare, the Luna Park refurbishment and the recently completed Parramatta Aquatic Centre, Yarrila Place in Coffs Harbour and the Urbnsurf surf park in Sydney.

Delivering across NSW and Southern Queensland
Lipman is headquartered in North Sydney, with regional offices in Western NSW, the North Coast, The Hunter and the Northern Rivers.
We have successfully grown our NSW regional presence over the last 12 years. In 2019 we were named best regional builder by the MBA in the Western Region and in the Northern Rivers. In 2024 we once again were named Commercial Builder of the Year at the MBA Northern Region Awards.
The Northern Rivers business trades as Bennett Constructions as part of the Lipman Group.

The Lipman team is a cohesive and high-performing group of building professionals of medium to long-term employees that have been working together for many years.
Many of the Lipman team have been supported in their career development throughout their time at Lipman and have a strong sense of loyalty as well as understanding the collaborative contracting ethos that has been part of the Lipman philosophy since it was founded 55 years ago.

Phillip Lipman
January 1927 – April 2023
Phillip Lipman, the founder of The Lipman Group was 96 when he passed away peacefully in his sleep early Tuesday morning, 19th of April 2023.
Phillip leaves a substantial legacy to the Sydney construction industry and the people working in the company he founded.

Yarrila Place, Coffs Harbour
This new landmark building is in the heart of Coffs Harbour – combining arts, people, technology and culture to create a vibrant community hub. In 2024 at the MBA Northern Region Awards it won in 2 categories (Commercial Buildings, Best Use of Masonry and Best use of Tile). This project then won a further 2 awards at the MBA NSW State Awards in 2024.
Nepean Hospital Pathology Fitout
This project involved the alteration and fitout of the existing undercroft for a new Pathology Department and included hematology, chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, cytopathology, and pre-analytical labs. Winning an MBA NSW Excellence in Construction Awards Health Buildings – Refurbishment: $10m – $30m.
Dubbo Hospital Solar
Works at Dubbo Hospital have continued into a fifth consecutive year with a variation to complete a 1072Kw Solar System across the entire hospital campus. This project provides a key piece of infrastructure that will benefit the Hospital and the greater Dubbo community. A winner at the 2024 MBA Regional Excellence in Building Awards – Western Region.
Millthorpe Public School
Works at Millthorpe provided an upgraded administration area and a new staff room. Heritage Block B was internally renovated, and new covered outdoor areas and walkways installed. Winner of an MBA Regional Excellence in Building Awards – Western Region – Restoration of an Historic Building.
Northern Rivers Flood Recovery Villages
This project provided 200+ temporary modular homes (also called pods) of 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms in size and caravans at the Evans Head site. Each site was completed in as little as 12 weeks in a fast-paced program. These ‘pod’ villages are supplemented by supporting infrastructure and amenities.
Coffs Day Hospital
The project is a highly complex building with medical equipment installations that take great care and focus to deliver. The successful delivery of such finishes and installations has been a direct result of the project team’s unwavering commitment to managing and coordinating multiple trades and suppliers to achieve these outcomes.
